Established in 1954 and located in the heart of the Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas Children’s Hospital is committed to providing the finest possible patient care, education and research. The nonprofit hospital is ranked No. 4 among the top children’s hospitals in the United States by both U.S.News & World Report and by Child magazine. Texas Children’s has earned widespread recognition for its expertise and breakthrough developments in the treatment of cancer, diabetes, asthma, HIV, premature birth, attention-related disorders, organ transplants and cardiogenic disorders. Patients and their families have access to the optimum in multidisciplinary care through the 40 pediatric subspecialties and dozens of special services offered. Texas Children’s also performs a variety of community services in the form of health screenings, special events and educational programs aimed at building and supporting a community of healthy children. In addition, Texas Children’s serves as the primary private pediatric hospital for the prestigious Baylor College of Medicine and participates with Baylor on some 400 pediatric research projects annually.
